The core gameplay mode of Apex Legends gathers 20 teams of three players and allows them to perform team jumps and landings at the start of the match, simplifying the process of deploying on the land below.

The gameplay is faster and more streamlined than in any of the competing big battle royale games, promoting the fast transition from one area to another, an easy way to climb on terrain/buildings, instantly communicate with the built-in Ping system, and engage in battles where every user can quickly replenish their core health and armor gauges if they find only a few seconds where they are safe from the incoming fire.

To make the gameplay even more engaging, completely downed players can even be resurrected at numerous respawn points located across the map, giving the ability to unlucky teams to bounce back, respawn to the full complement, and fight again for the match victory.
