Caliber is a realistic F2P tactical shooter game for Windows PC developed by Russian 1C Game Studios and published worldwide by Wargaming.net, a popular publisher of tactical action games World of Tanks/Warship/Warplanes.

Built from the ground up to provide fans of the action multiplayer genre access to state-of-the-art tactical shooter experience, Caliber manages to excel in the field of online competition and cooperative play. Focusing on fast-paced gameplay, realistic visuals, and a high degree of customization, this F2P title enables anyone to showcase their tactical mind and unrealized military fantasies in the safe environment of online gameplay.

The core gameplay of this title revolves around Special Operators - the urban warriors that are separated into four basic classes: Assault, Support, Medic, and Marksman. All of them carry with them basic characteristics that make them suitable for various roles during combat engagements (damage dealing, debuffing enemies, healing or supporting allies, speed of movement, and resilience to incoming damage). The game does not approach gunfights in a realistic manner, enabling players to use in-game abilities such as the mass-healing of allies in just a few seconds.

The visual presentation focuses not on first person, but third person traversal and combat, with the option to move to 1st person view for precise shooting. The graphics are not spectacular, but they convey the feeling of urban environments with great success, with lots of detail and destructible objects arranged everywhere around players. The color palette is muted and subdued, and even though the game features several interesting maps, the game environments never feel cheerful or inviting.

Since this is a F2P game, Caliber offers a wide array of premium customization options. Free players can earn battle credits that can be used to increase their skills, while the premium subscription option enables committed players to upgrade their characters and more easily decorate them with prettier cosmetic gear. The game thankfully does not feature loot boxes or the purchase of randomized gear.

While Caliber does not have unique gameplay offerings and visual design, it does offer a satisfying gameplay experience. And even though it has PvE and PvPvE modes, the bulk of its content is focused on adrenaline-filled PvP matches.
