PES 2017

PES 2017 (Pro Evolution Soccer 2017) is a popular soccer simulation game developed by PES Productions and published by Konami in 2016.

As the successor of one of the most critically successful Pro Evolution Soccer games in recent Konami history, PES 2017 strived to innovate not only in the field of presentation or large roster of licensed teams, leagues, and player likenesses but also in the area of responsive, realistic and dynamic gameplay. Similarly to its predecessor, this game has retained the official license for the world's largest competitions and leagues, including those of the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, and the popular UEFA Super Cup.

To better promote the release and post-launch support of this game, Konami moved from the single cover athlete and included four players from PC Barcelona (Neymar, Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Ivan Rakitić, and Gerard Piqué) on the cover of the game. Inside the game, players got the opportunity to follow famous teams FC Barcelona, Liverpool F.C., Borussia Dortmund, and Club Atlético River Plate who were all recreated in stunning detail that included a licensed stadium, official kits, player likenesses, club logos, and more.

The core new feature that was introduced in this title is “Control Reality” – a brand new system that allows for more realistic animations and lifelike reactions when controlling players (both with and without the ball). This system has allowed players of this game to finally see and take control of players that move almost exactly just like they do in real-life, with realistic movements, weight, inertia, realistic physical interactions during ground or air player contacts, and any other situation imaginable. Immediately upon the game's launch, PES 2017 was praised for its increased physicality and ball handling, managing to gather accolades as one of the most realistic soccer games currently on the market. In addition to better animation and physics, the game also greatly enhanced its myClub mode with a standalone match analysis system, and it also introduced a new AI routine that could automatically adapt and change tactics and strategic plans on the fly depending on the player's performance in matches.

PES 2017 is today regarded as the clear advancement over its predecessor who was already praised as one of the best Pro Evolution Soccer games ever.
