Raft is an innovative
survival simulation game developed by small indie studio Redbeet Interactive and published digitally on PC by Axolot Games in 2018 as an “early access†title that is scheduled for massive development upgrades and
free content addons that will upgrade this title to a full finished game.
Set in an
epic ocean environment, the players are tasked to survive while being stranded on a small raft, equipped with only basic tools and weapons. Utilizing all the present gameplay systems and taking advantage of multiplayer cooperative play, players can survive on the endless open water and
learn the secrets of the perilous sea. The act of survival starts with the simple gathering of drifting debris,
catching food, and can lead to the dramatic expansion of the size of your home raft and crafting of much more capable items for resource
gathering,
hunting, and
defense.
In addition to spending time above the water and in the safety of the raft, the players must take advantage of the water around them and use their
swimming and
diving skills to the best of their abilities. However, they must also always be aware of the animal predators that lurk beneath the waves, which can cut their time exploring underwater reefs short, forcing players either to flee or stand their ground and fight. The starting equipment consists only of the useful
rope and
hook, which enables only basic floating item gathering and fishing.
After hours spent in the
game trying only to gather basic supplies for survival, the players can engage in more advanced systems of crafting, researching for new items, transforming their raft into a moving vehicle, navigating to new areas, dive and explore underwater land, and
fight against many kinds of dangers. In no time, your raft can become a floating palace filled with multiple levels of floors, rooms, and areas that control raft navigation. The multiplayer is streamlined and promotes cooperation between shipwrecked survivors.
Due to its development inside the powerful
Unity 3D engine, the
Raft game can today be played on a wide variety of modern gaming PCs, enabling even users with older configurations or laptops to spend hours inside this ever-evolving game.
