WWE 2K15

WWE 2K15 is a professional wrestling video game developed by Japanese developer Yuke’s and published by 2K Sports in late 2014 and is remembered today as the title in this franchise that was built to run on the brand new home consoles PS5 and Xbox One, which enabled developers to elevate visual presentation and fidelity of the title to a much higher level than ever before.

This is also the first game in the WWE 2K franchise that landed on PC! The previous title that did so was the old WWE Raw from the year 2002. As a gif to the PC community, developers included almost all console DLC content into the base version of the game, providing home PC users with an incredible variety of content without raising the price. This helped the title to achieve record sales of 3 million copies in the first six months on the market.

In gameplay terms, this title managed to garner significant praise by returning to more arcade-based relaxed gameplay that many traditional fans of wrestling games wanted to experience for many years. To bring the game to a whole new level of fun, this title also introduced several new gameplay systems such as a new and improved three-tier stamina bar, a grapple system, and several more addons that have brought on-screen action more in line with the phenomenal wrestling shown on the real WWE weekly shows and PPVs.

WWE 2K15 is also packed to the brim with content, with only some limitations. For example, instead of trying to return the entire roster of a wrestler from the previous title released in 2013, developers decided to make only 76 playable WWE wrestlers, but give all of them a visual overhaul, bringing them in line with next-generation visuals present in and around the ring (such as detailed stadiums and well-animated crowds).

All the previous match types return, with some of them receiving substantial upgrades (support for using weapons in Hell in a Cell match), with a few brand-new ones joining the list (Three Stages of Hell and Casket Match).

The central game modes of WWE 2K15 are “2K Showcase” with 33 historical matches and big WWE rivalries, My Career” mode where the player can jump into the boots of a brand new WWE wrestler, and “Creative Suite” where players can create their own wrestling stories, design move-sets, and finishers, add custom soundtracks and much more.

It is important to note that PC is the best platform for experiencing this title because some of the features are completely absent on some consoles due to their weak rendering performance.

PROS

Improved Graphics: WWE 2K15 introduced significant graphical enhancements compared to its predecessors. The character models, arenas, and animations are more realistic and detailed.

MyCareer Mode: The game featured a MyCareer mode where players could create a custom wrestler and guide them through a career in WWE. This added a sense of immersion and progression to the game.

2K Showcase Mode: The 2K Showcase mode allowed players to relive and recreate famous WWE rivalries and storylines, providing a nostalgic experience for long-time fans.

Enhanced Gameplay Mechanics: The gameplay mechanics were refined to provide a more realistic and fluid wrestling experience. This included improved chain wrestling and stamina systems.

Large Roster: The game had a diverse roster of WWE superstars and legends, offering a wide range of characters to choose from.

CONS

Limited Features: It was criticized for its limited feature set compared to previous WWE games. Some match types and creation options were missing, leading to a feeling of incompleteness.

Removed Gameplay Modes: Several popular gameplay modes from earlier entries, such as Create-a-Story and Create-a-Finisher, were removed in this installment, disappointing fans who enjoyed those features.

Lack of Innovation: While the graphics and presentation received a significant upgrade, the core gameplay didn't change drastically from the previous iterations, leading to a feeling of stagnation for some players.

Technical Issues: Some players reported technical issues, including glitches and bugs, which affected the overall gaming experience.
